The average person loses 2,000+ hours a year to their phone. Read why

Put the phone down, take your life back

A demonstration of the Mindless flow: a doomscrolling feed is interrupted by an intention check that asks what you are actually looking for, and the session ends with time returned to your day.

The mechanism

One pause can break the whole loop.

Mindless puts one intentional pause between you and the feed. Not a hard block, a moment. Enough space to catch the reflex, name what you actually came for, and choose whether this is it.

1
Catch the reachThe moment you open Instagram, TikTok or X, Mindless steps in before the feed does.
2
State the intentionAnswer one honest question about what you are actually looking for right now.
3
Choose on purposeGo in with a reason, or close it and keep the time. Either way it was your call.
Works everywhere

Choose the apps that pull you into autopilot.

Set intention checks, blocks, schedules, and limits around the apps you want to use more deliberately.

The real cost

4 to 6 hours a day. Gone.

That is more than 2,000 hours a year. Mindless does not shame the number. It shows it to you, then helps you spend it on purpose.

On purpose, and put down.

Made for the way you live

Your phone has different jobs. Your boundaries should too.

The phone is not the problem. It is the place you go to avoid the real one.

What is inside

Small tools, real friction

Hold the boundary

Group apps, set schedules, and cap daily limits that match your real life. Boundaries that stay put when your willpower does not.

Letters to Mindless

"I use my phone to escape from boredom and lack the discipline to stop. I find myself spending 9 to 13 hours a day on my phone, and I truly don't know how to break this cycle despite trying every single day."

FayssalNewsletter reader

"Thank you for taking the time to create a safer world. Less suffering, more presence."

PanosNewsletter reader

"For years, my phone was taking over my life, endless scrolling, missed opportunities to connect with people around me, and constant fatigue from all the screen time. In a couple of weeks, my usage went way down, and I've noticed real improvements: more time for hobbies, better sleep, and actually being present in conversations."

"My biggest problem is that I no longer enjoy life the way I used to. I lost interest in the things I used to love. All I do now is Instagram."

TayebNewsletter reader

"I've realised that my problem is loneliness and through the scrolling I am looking for connection. Now I've realised that, the scrolling is better."

"I come from a military background and consider myself disciplined, but I still caught myself mindlessly scrolling chasing dopamine. Mindless helped me notice it before I slipped into autopilot. That awareness alone has made a huge difference in how I use my phone."

"My biggest problem is my inability to be bored."

AncaNewsletter reader

"My biggest problem is sitting with my thoughts and the to-do list I have. It overwhelms me and leads me to pick up my phone to scroll endlessly to avoid that feeling."

ArhamNewsletter reader

"I really love the concept of Mindless and I'm ready to tackle my habits."

NoahStudent, Munich

"My biggest problem is that I don't like myself. I only feel good and alive when I actively practice self love."

RobNewsletter reader

"It's helped me be way more aware of my scrolling without making me feel guilty or restricted. Super easy to set up and feels supportive instead of annoying."

emilyjwilbsApp Store review

"My biggest problem is the anxiety that comes when I decide not to open Instagram and my nervous system tells me there is definitely something urgent. And yeah, I know it is not, but it is hard to ignore this sharp feeling."

Questions

The honest answers

Is this different from Apple Screen Time?
Screen Time shows you the number and lets you set a limit. Mindless adds an intention pause when you open an app, and connects that moment to your moods, journals, and usage patterns.
What if I genuinely need the app?
You stay in control. Mindless turns an automatic open into a deliberate choice. It is not designed to lock you out of your phone.
I already tried app blockers. What is different?
Most blockers focus on the app. Mindless focuses on the moment you reach for it, and the reason underneath the reach.
Is Mindless therapy?
No. Mindless is a digital wellness and self-reflection tool. It does not diagnose or treat any medical or mental health condition.
How much does it cost?
Mindless is free to download. Full access requires a subscription, with plans shown in the app.
Is Android available?
Not yet. The Get Mindless for Android button joins the waitlist, and we will email you at launch.
What about my data?
